U Station at Futian Railway Station put into service

THE U Station at Futian Railway Station, Shenzhen’s first underground U Station, was officially put into use Jan. 26. The launching ceremony was held at Futian Railway Station.

    U Station, short for “City’s Volunteers Service U Station,” serves as an important window for helpful individuals to serve the public and represents the vibrant spirit of volunteerism in Shenzhen.

    According to a staff member with the Volunteers Association of Futian District, the U Station is operated by the Shenzhen Rescue Volunteers Federation, an organization in which all the volunteers are professionals equipped with first aid knowledge. They mainly offer services to visitors and tourists to Shenzhen. They also organize activities to educate people on first aid and self-rescue knowledge.

    During the Chunyun period, the Shenzhen Volunteers Federation will join hands with FM 105.7 U Radio to offer services and help to people who are traveling during the holidays. (Yang Mei)
